Down on Old MacDonald's
Farmyard there are some very special friends roaming around,
because what farm would be complete without its very own herd of
animals. But at Alton Towers nothing is ever quite as it seems and
here at Old Macdonald's Farmyard his menagerie includes Giant Bunnies
and Miniature Donkeys, just the ticket for youngsters to meet and
greet.
During 2007 the Giant
Bunnies arrived at Alton Towers to become the first animals to reside
in Old MacDonald's Farmyard since 2002. The park currently has three
rabbits, Rosie, Tulip and Miracle, all of whom arrived at the park in
2008. This was also the year the rabbits found a home in Furry Friends
at the centre of the farmyard, which is where they hang out when not
in their paddock behind the Riverbank Eyespy.
By the end of 2008 a
pair of Miniature Donkeys, Little George and Granville, had joined them, who can generally be found
in the barn behind Doodle Doo Derby. And since then chickens have been
reintroduced to the farm as well as a colony of Guinea Pigs, who live
in Furry Friends.
As a special festive
treat, Santa also stables his reindeer at Old Macdonald's Farmyard
during the Christmas season.
