The Blade is a swinging boat ride, situated at the top of Forbidden Valley, as its name suggests it is themed as a giant swinging blade. It fits into the valley very well
and its rusty appearance and yellow and black stripes match with nearby Ripsaw.
It is built on a huge four-legged tubular steel rig and can seat up to 45 passengers. The boat takes barely half a dozen swings for it to reach its near vertical position, at that point you feel weightless.
There is rarely a large queue and when there is a queue it is because
guests wait for the back seats that offer a more thrilling ride,
because they go higher into the air.
Attraction History
The
Blade is one of the oldest rides in the park having opened in 1981 as
the Pirate Ship. The ride was originally situated in the Fantasy World,
in the location now occupied by Submission in X-Sector.
The birth of Oblivion led to it being reborn as The Blade in 1997 when it was moved into
Forbidden Valley as the replacement of Thunder Looper.
