When Towers Street opened in 1987 one of its earliest residents was Splodge. This furry blue robot could often be found riding his tricycle around the bottom of Towers Street, where he would chat with guests.

Splodge was quite popular, with guests often confused about how the robot was able to have conversations with them. He was joined in 1988 by Pippin, who worked on much the same principle, although Pippin drove a much more robust car as opposed to a tricycle. Splodge left the Towers at the end of 1988.
