In 2004 the park made the difficult decision to remove the iconic Swan
Boat Ride from it's lake in Merrie England after 17 years of service.
It was replaced by the Splash Kart Challenge, an attraction which was
a world away from the docile Swan Boat Ride, as it was more akin to
go-karts on water. The Karts operated in the lake alongside the
Courtyard Tavern until midway through the 2007 season when they were
closed as construction began on the Battle Galleons.
