The Magic
Carpet was a classic fairground attraction that could be found at
parks across the country. The carpet was attached to four arms with weights on the end
and gave excellent negative G-forces as it
went over the top.
The ride opened in 1984 in Festival Park but was removed by 1986
after just two seasons at the park. It is not known why it was
removed, but it was likely to be due to the more popular 1001 Nights
which opened in 1985.
